Site of the opening ceremony and main forum

On August 4, the Opening Ceremony of the 6th China International SeniorServices Expo and the 6th Forum on the Development of Chinese Senior Service Industrywas held at China National Convention Center in Beijing. This expo was co-hosted by ChinaAssociation of Social Welfare and Senior Service, China Association of SocialSecurity, China Professionals-Workers International Travel Service Head Officeof All-China Federation of Trade Union. The expo has 12 zones, with participationof 220 social organizations, institutes and enterprisesfrom about 20 countries and regions. Meanwhile, there’s a Main Forum, the 6th Forumon the Development of Chinese Senior Service Industry and 16 sub-forums, withguests from The International Federation on Ageing and countries, such asAmerica, Britain, France, Europe, Holland, Singapore, and Japan. Leaders inAll-China Federation of Trade Union and government of Heilongjiang Province,along with the organizer of social organizations subordinate to relevantministries and commissions attended the Opening Ceremony and the Main Forum.This expo continued to take "Gratitude, Care, Service andDevelopment" as the mission, providing a broad exchange platform for theguests and services organizations from home and abroad that attended the expoand forum. This expo adopted innovative pattern of organizing the expo, withmany highlights in the zones and forums, displaying the latest research achievementsand service products with high quality. Degree of participation in this expo isgreater than previous expos, with tendency of cross-border integration to agood prospect and co-appearance of domestic and international brands, showingthe new trends in the creative development in China Senior Service.

The Vice Chairman of the 11th CPPCC, Zhang Meiying made a speech and announced opening of the expo

The opening ceremony was hosted by Feng Xiaoli, President of China Association of Social Welfare and Senior Service, attended and addressed by Zhang Meiying, Vice Chairman of the 11th CPPCC, Gregory Ross Shaw, Director of International and Corporate Relations of International Federation on Ageing, Kevin Holland, Minister-Counsellor of British Embassy in China. Zhang Meiying, Vice Chairman of the 11th CPPCC declared the opening of the ceremony.

In the speech, Zhang Meiying, Vice Chairman of the 11th CPPCC pointed out that under the active advocating and pushing forward of the government, enthusiastic participation of social powers, the China International Senior Services Expo has been held for five consecutive years, receiving widespread recognition and praise in the field of senior services at home and abroad, and becoming a great event of condensation of intelligence and power, brand development, product innovation, integrative development. The 13th Five-Year Plan Construction Plan of National Cause of Aging and Senior Service System introduced in 2017, plans the construction of causes of aging and senior service system as a whole from the level of overall situation of the development of economy and society, putting forward clear requirements for reacting actively to the aging population and pushing forward the scientific development of senior service development, and introducing a series of supervising policies. At present, under the guide of development idea of "Innovation, coordination, green, openness, sharing", senior service in our country should comply with the principle of "people oriented, mutual construction and sharing, making up the disadvantages, improving quality and efficiency, reforming and innovating, motivating energy, overall planning and all-round consideration, coordinating development", moving forward coordinately and developing scientifically, improving the living conditions of the seniors and playing an increasingly significant role in supporting the process of social and economy development in the period of the 13th Five-Year Plan.

Kevin Holland, Minister-Counselor of British Embassy in China, expressed in the speech that we hoped to improve the cooperation between Britain and China in many fields, introducing the experience and technology of Britain to China, making contributions to further improve the life quality of the seniors in China with the help of this expo.

The 6th Forum on the Development of Chinese Senior Service Industry was hosted by Zhang Mingliang, Executive Vice President of China Association of Social Welfare and Senior Service. The forum exploited the development trends and national policy support of senior services industry in China from a broad perspective, and the creative path to push forward the development of senior service causes. The sub-forums compatible with each zone focused on the standardized construction of senior services and quality management, information technology, health service, brand development and other subjects, with the participation of expert scholars and practitioners at home and abroad, which had deep exchanges of the latest theory research and innovative practice experience, providing the achievement sharing for the participants.

Zheng Gongcheng, Standing Committee Member of the 12th NPC, Standing Committee and Chairman of China Association of Social Security, shared "thinking on the sustainable and healthy development of senior service industry in China". Peter A.Bootsma, counselor of medical welfare and sports of Holland Embassy in China, put the emphasis on the introduction of the policy support and practice of the construction of social welfare service system for the senior in Holland. Jia Yumei, member of the standing committee of provincial Party committee and vice-governor of provincial government in Heilongjiang shared the experience of senior service with the future of Northeast part of China with the theme of building a healthy retreat for the senior in Heilongjiang for summertime, benefiting the travelling seniors who live abroad. Hu Xiaoyi, president of China Social Insurance Association, explained the meditation on the establishment of long-term caring insurance system; Carol Ann Hall, Vice president of the European Association of Educators in Nursing Science(FINE) introduced the experience of establishment of professional online coordinate cooperation by European nurses and caregiving education workers under the theme of "caregiving education in the changing world, wished to support caregiving of the senior"; George ASSERAF, Chairman of the French National Commission for Vocational Qualifications, gave a detailed introduction of specific process in the professional training of care for the elderly based on the actual experience of the senior service certification work; Wang Xiao'e, deputy director of general office of Beijing Municipal Committee for Aging People Services, introduced the innovative practice experience of deepening the reform of streamlining administration and delegating power to the lower levels and improving services, supporting professional operation with the subject of "supporting professional operation, developing residential senior service"; Kobayashi, President of Japanese Care Giver Training Facility Association, shared the system construction, work practice and development direction of the caring service and worker training in Japan, centering on the theme of "current status and prospect of the training of caring talents in Japan"; Feng Xiaoli, President of China Association of Social Welfare and Senior Service, shared the working experience of integrating intelligence and labor to make achievements in the construction of senior service industry.

French ambassador to China Jean Maurice RIPERT took a visit to the exhibition during the expo. He visited international exhibition zone vigorously. During his visit, he had a passionate conversation with Madam Feng Xiaoli, the president of China Association of Social Welfare and Senior Service, the sponsor of the 6th China International Senior Services Expo. Jean Maurice RIPERT expressed that China International Senior Services Expo was an excellent platform to promote the international cooperation of senior service industry, and he wished further cooperation would be carried between France exhibitors and Chinese exhibitors in the 7th China International Senior Services Expo, so as to make contributions to improve the life quality for the elderly around the world.

In the forum with relevant theme and activities on August 5, directors of the industry association of all provinces or cities in the country, senior service institute, service institute in the Federation of Trade Union system, and training institute of brand enterprises and culture will discuss enthusiastically the experience and solutions of pushing forward professional service and technology development, talent training, and conducted on-site project negotiation and investment-attracting, providing solutions for improving the senior service quality and forging a path of developing a senior service brand with unique Chinese features. This expo also set up a senior culture service zone, with the organization of the first photography art exhibition of the senior, Zhongfu Cup, displaying the excellent moments of the senior and showing the upward and active spirits of the Contemporary senior.
